George Simpson is a dedicated and passionate Funeral industry professional with a career in the sector spanning 30 years. During his three decades in the industry, he has worked for some of the largest Funeral and Cemetery operators in the UK and Australia, performing a diverse range of roles, from Funeral Director, Regional Manager and Chief Executive Officer.

George  recently established WoodWynd Consulting, a boutique Funeral services consultancy aimed at assisting and working with operators in the Funeral and Cemetery /Crematoria sectors, helping to position and develop their businesses for the challenges and opportunities that the Australian Funeral industry will experience in the future.

He has wide-ranging experience across all aspects of the Australian and international Funeral and Cemetery/Crematoria sectors which has allowed him to gain insight into the constantly moving industry trends that consumers require. 

George’s involvement in the funeral sector has enabled him to improve the experience and services delivered to bereaved clients, this includes searching for unique and innovative ways to provide consumers with educated choices in purchasing Funeral and Cemetery Crematoria related products

His most recent role was as CEO at Australia's largest Cemetery, where he was involved with all aspects of Cemetery Management, Strategic and Business planning, Cemetery sustainability projects, land acquisition, capacity reporting and heritage safety programmes.

George is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has a national Diploma in Management Studies from Henley Management college UK, is also a qualified Funeral Director and an affiliate member of the Cemetery Crematoria Association of NSW.
